A Warm Welcome to Our School
On behalf of the children, staff, and community at St. Mary’s C of E Primary School, I would like to thank you for your interest in our school and welcome you to our website. We welcome all visits to our uniquely small but thriving and friendly village school, situated in beautiful, leafy-green grounds at the heart of a rural community.
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make as a parent. Whether you are reading this as a prospective parent or a member of our local community, it gives me great pleasure to share our journey with you. I hope this website offers you a glimpse of what makes St. Mary’s such a special and unique place.
Here at St. Mary’s, we are an inclusive school, providing all children with the opportunity to thrive and flourish. Our committed and dedicated team aspires to deliver the highest quality of education. We are a school with the community at its heart, ensuring all pupils are loved, nurtured, and enabled to succeed in an atmosphere of high expectations, preparing them for the world and the jobs of tomorrow.
We have developed an exciting, broad, and balanced curriculum, rich in creative, first-hand experiences and core skills. This ensures that all pupils reach their academic potential and become responsible, well-rounded citizens equipped for the modern world. Every child is supported to succeed and thrive, becoming a life-long learner, prepared for the challenges ahead.
I feel privileged to be the Headteacher of St. Mary’s, a school with a positive family atmosphere and a strong sense of community. We are passionate about creating an environment where children feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and be challenged to reach their fullest potential. As a Church of England Primary School, we work together for the good of all learners. Our caring, Christian ethos is firmly based on our core values, which guide us to consistently strive to achieve and exceed our potential.
We believe that the partnership between home and school is crucial to your child’s academic, social, and physical development. We continually strive to work closely with families, inviting you to participate in a range of experiences such as performances, open afternoons, coffee mornings, and sports days.
Our school sets high expectations and challenging tasks to enhance children’s learning. We encourage curiosity, engagement, and enthusiasm, supported by the entire school community and our learning environment. We also believe that communities build schools, and we aim to work in partnership with our community to continually improve both the school and the education we provide.
I hope this website gives you insight into our vision, values, and day-to-day life at St. Mary’s. Should you have any further questions, we are happy to discuss these with you in person or by telephone. We look forward to offering you and your child the warmest welcome to our school.
