St Mary's is the Church of England church for Woodham Ferrers, a village near Chelmsford in Essex and it has stood at the heart of our community for over 750 years.

St Mary's is situated at the top of the hill, on Main Road, in Woodham Ferrers.  However, being set back from the road, people often miss it and don't realise this wonderfully historic building is there.  Those who do take the time to visit will find an interesting  and beautiful church, in a peaceful setting with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the top of the Churchyard.  Guided tours can be arranged for groups who wold like to visit.

As a parish Church, we have close ties with St. Mary's Church of England Primary School, the Congregational Church in Woodham Ferrers and our sister church of St. Andrew's in Bicknacre.
