A warm welcome to St Mary's C of E Primary School
On behalf of the children, staff and community at St. Mary's C of E Primary School, I would like to thank you for your interest in our school and welcome you to our website. I am very excited to have been appointed as the new Headteacher of this unique, community church school. I was appointed by the Berlesdunda Academy Trust in March 2020 and officially took up post in September 2020. Already, we have seen immense developments and improvements across the school.
We welcome all visits to our uniquely small and friendly village school. Here at St Mary's C of E Primary School, we are always very pleased to welcome new visitors and new children into our school community. If you would like to have a look around our school or speak to us, please do book an appointment through Mrs Eames in the school office, you can contact her on 01245 320505, option 2. We would be delighted to hear from you! However, the website is also used to provide regular and updated information for the whole school community.
As a school, we have high expectations and set challenging tasks to enhance children's learning. We strive to encourage children to engage in their learning and show curiosity and enthusiasm. These expectations are supported by the whole school community and through the learning environment. We also believe that communities build schools and we aim to work in partnership with the school community to constantly improve the school and the education that we provide for pupils, whatever level we reach. Our aim is to provide children with a love of learning, social competence and the best possible tools to succeed personally, academically, spiritually, morally and socially in a fast paced, ever changing and technological 21st Century world.
In order to meet our aspirations, we are committed to working closely with parents and carers and the wider community and to use all the resources available to us to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. We also encourage the community to contribute to our future improvement planning.
We are proud to be a Church of England, Voluntary Aided Primary School and we have worked hard to develop the Christian ethos of our school. As a community, we work together for the good of all of our learners. The caring, Christian ethos of the school is firmly based on our core values which remind us all that we must consistently strive to achieve and exceed our potential.
